Architect : UberRaum

Client : Thai Embassy

In 2015, Parrypage was chosen by Architect UberRaum to carry out their vision for an updated look of the Thai embassy.

The works include the consular and visa sections as well as the Embassy’s musical performance space, which is regularly used for high-profile receptions and cultural events.

Form and materiality is inspired by traditional Thai colours, motifs and shapes. Patterns, cut into joinery, create echoes of Thai woodcarving techniques, and an opulent gold colour scheme reflects the warmth and richness of Thai interiors.

Whilst looking very simple, the sections of joinery were very complicated to produce due to the curves or the various range of angles used in conjunction with one another.
